I grew up in a small town in the Catskill Mountains of New York. I received my B.A. in English from U Albany and my M.A. in Communications from NYU.  I taught English and acting for nine years and then returned to school and received my J.D. from U of Miami. After practicing law in the Pacific Northwest for sixteen years, I retired and began studying photography at the Northwest School of Photography in Seattle, Washington.  From time to time, I have taken workshops.  But, for the most part, the camera has been my teacher.

My study of photography first began in the darkroom where my images slowly emerged mysteriously from chemicals in the photo trays in shades of white, gray, and black. Now, I choose from an infinite color wheel in my digital darkoom computer. My focus, however, has always remained the same: I see the world with a fresh set of eyes; I visualize; I freeze a moment in time. My primary goal is to be evocative, to create beauty, and to forge an emotional connection from image to observer.

I have travelled the world with my SLR slung around my neck. Peru, Croatia, Guatemala, New Zealand, Thailand, Galapagos, Holland, Vietnam, Cuba, Japan, Turkey, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Colombia, Bhutan, and Argentina have beckoned me as well as landscapes throughout the US.

One of my favorite venues is shooting through shop windows to create an altered sense of reality. My goals is to merge the background into the foreground to create a blend of two images that speak to one another.

I am pleased to share my spirit as seen through my camera lens.
